First weekend in Tokyo

Halloween is back, and Japan was bitten by the Halloween bug!

I went with my friends to a costume party at the Bamboo bar at Roppongi Hills. I was Miss Pumpkin, Raghu was the samurai, Tej the little angel, and their friends Sam & Will were (another) Miss Pumpkin and the scary guy from Scream... and we danced away to Thriller and other music at the bar (which seemed to have been invaded by 18-year old Russian models in tight-fitting outfits).

Then today (Sunday), brunch in Ebisu, a really nice residential neighborhood which I need to check out with the agents. Ate at "Heaven", strolled, went for a shiatsu massage and reflexology therapy. Later went to the Tokyo Midtown, a new mall which has "designer" everything, from top to bottom...

Everything is incredibly beautiful, down to every detail. All the stores were super-premium-luxury stores, and I was surprised to see several luxury bakeries / chocolatiers. There was even a luxury fruit store, which sold "gift fruit" (a Japanese tradition?), including the famous $100 melons. I'm not even kidding. If you look at the picture close enough, you'll see the other melon is about $150. I'm sure one day I'll understand..

We ate at the food court downstairs, which hosted a variety of cuisines, and where I ate the best salmon roe ever, and my first (and probably best yet) sushi !!

Oh, and today's weather was spring-summer-like... very sunny, warm, incredible. You could almost forget about the heavy rains the day before. Crazy.

Had to add this picture: an Oyster bar in Tokyo which imports oysters from Mont St-Michel? I guess if I ever have a craving for a taste of "home"...

Time to upload some photos and go to bed early for a good start to the workweek!

Can you put the pictures of the 18 year old Russian models.. Its not that I dont appreciate your pictures in Halloween costumes, however one does wonder how a Russian model looks in tight clothes!

Now, the thing about the Russian models is that they seriously threaten my social life in Tokyo.

Although I found out today (or rather, got confirmation today) that they were paid. They're hostesses. A lot of Eastern European girls in Tokyo work as bartenders, showroom hostesses, event hostesses, and these girls were indeed receiving goodie-bags at the end of the party. So, HA!

And no, you're still not getting the pictures. I deleted them all.
